We need to discover how to build a system that focuses on excellence,
that is accessible to all and promotes the development of the young
into citizens who can build the country. We may share different backgrounds,
but we are all human beings. By focusing on potential, we can nurture
talent."

TST assesses
an individual’s learning potential and cognitive responsiveness
to new training and developmental tasks in the work environment.
Each work role requires different fields of trainability. For example,
Human Resources require the individual to be strong in literacy, reasoning
and mental concentration whereas Technical positions require one to
be strong in the fields of orientation (practical and hands on work),
problem solving with a high level of concentration. The TST battery
consists of a basket of five sub – tests, each assessing different
aspects of the job within the selected programme. These sub-tests are:
-
Feature Detection
-
Verbal Reasoning
-
Number, Speed and Accuracy
-
Working Memory
-
Spatial Orientation
